Argentina has a significant volume and variety of hardwoods for flooring, furniture and railroad ties. While the timber industry is a small portion of the economy, it is growing and becoming more sophisticated.

Rough sawn logs and railroad ties are the major export. The following items are abundant species.

  • Quebracho spp. (both Colorado and Blanco)
  • Palo Lanza
  • Guaranina (Nina)
  • Palo Santos
  • Itin
  • Lapacho (Ipe)
